Borders Literary Prize – Leonora Miano

The Université de Lorraine and the University of the Greater Region, in cooperation with the UniGR-Center for Border Studies, launched the first edition of the "Borders" literary prize. The prize is dedicated to the Cameroonian author Leonora Miano. The author and ambassadress of the prize spoke at the opening event on the 2nd February 2021 live on Youtube on the topic: "De l'espace à la littérature : explorer les frontières".

The prize rewards the best book published in 2020 and dealing with the topic of borders.

The prize was awarded on 19th of June 2021 in the frame of the festival "Le livre à Metz - Littérature et journalisme" in front of a small public connoisseur.

The award winners:

  • 1st prize: Andrés Barba – Une République Lumineuse
  • 2nd prize: Guillaume Poix – Là d’où je viens a disparu
  • 3rd prize: Béatrice Commengé – Alger, rue des bananiers
