Canteens

How can I eat at the universities?

A fat belly, a lean brain, so it’s said – but you don’t need to feel hungry during your visit at a partner university either: the university restaurants are open to all UniGR students! These services are managed by different bodies, which vary depending on each institution. They offer not only meals and snacks at preferential prices, but also set menus ranging from breakfast to dinner.

RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau

UniGR students have access to the canteens and cafeterias. They can pay with the ‘Mensakarte’. Upon presentation of the student card of one of the six partner universities, UniGR students can purchase the ‘Mensakarte’ at the information desk in the foyer of the canteen (building 30) on the Campus. There is an obligatory deposit of 10 EUR, which is refunded when the card is returned. The card has to be charged at one of the charging stations. The remaining money on the card will also be refunded when the card is returned. Further information is available at the Studierendenwerk Kaiserslautern.

University of Liège

The canteens and cafeteria are accessible to students of the University of Liège and international students. Payment is possible with bank cards or in cash. You will find more information on the website of the asbl Restaurants Universitaires, which serves both students and staff of the university.

Université de Lorraine

In France, it is the CROUS (Centre Régional des Œuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) which deals with catering facilities. For the university restaurants of Metz and Nancy, contact the CROUS of Lorraine. To be able to pay, you need to download Izly and activate your account with your student email adress.

University of Luxembourg

At Campus Belval and Campus Kirchberg, UniGR students can use their student card from another UniGR partner university for gaining access to the canteens. They can pay their meal cash. The canteen of Campus Limpertsberg is only accessible to people in possession of the card Restopolis, which can be obtained at the Service des Études et de la Vie Étudiante (SEVE).

Saarland University

The canteens on both campuses (Saarbrücken and Homburg) are accessible to all students. Students of the UniGR partner universities benefit from the student prices, upon presentation of the student card of their home university. Payment of the meals is possible with the student card of Saarland University or in cash.

Trier University

The canteens and cafeteria are accessible to all UniGR students, meals can be paid for in cash. However, only students in possession of the student card of the universities of Kaiserslautern or Trier benefit from preferential prices. Students of the other UniGR universities can obtain a guest card and purchase meals at guest rate. Further information is available at the Studierendenwerk Trier.
