Fifth robotics seminar: cross-border industrial robotics

A seminar of the Robotix-Academy took place at the University of Luxembourg, on Kirchberg Campus, from 04 to 08 February 2019. This five-day training gathered 40 master students, 4 professors and a dozen assistants from different partner universities of the Greater Region: Université de Lorraine (France), Université de Liège (Belgium), ZeMA Saarbrücken (Germany) and the University of Luxembourg. As every year, the Robotix-Academy gave the students the opportunity to participate in an intense course week dedicated to industrial robotics.

The programme was rather busy but divers. It included different presentations, lectures and exercises (covering simulation software and offline programming) on behalf of industrial robotics. The students also got hands-on programming experience on several robots and equipment belonging to partner institutions, which allowed them to discover a broad range of soft- and hardware in many different perspectives. A site visit of Fanuc at Contern, a dinner and a team building at the Jumpbox ideally concluded this five-day training.

The Robotix-Academy was launched as a cross-border research centre for industrial robotics in order to create teaching and research synergies in robotics between key players of the Greater Region. This year, the courses were once again organised in the framework of the Interreg-project “Robotix-Academy” and with the support of the UniGR.

The next edition will take place on February 2020 at ZeMA Saarbrücken (Germany).
