  1. 17 researchers from the UniGR-Center for Border Studies attend the world conference Border Studies

    Colloque

    For the second time, the Association for Borderland Studies, the world’s largest network of researchers in border studies, is organizing the World Conference Border Studies. The conference with the main focus on “Border Making and its Consequences” will take place in two countries and is co-organized by the University of Vienna (AT) and the Central European University in Budapest (HU). The UniGR-Center for Border Studies is involved in the international 5-day conference as a partner, covering the sections on Southwestern Europe.

  2. Etudier à l’échelle transfrontalière : interview avec Mihayl Varbanov

    Mihayl Varbanov est doctorant, chercheur et également étudiant à la faculté de pharmacie à l’Université de Lorraine. Ses recherches appartiennent au domaine de la virologie et l’immunologie. Il est également coordinateur Erasmus dans son UFR- Pharmacie pour la coopération internationale. Il a bénéficié d’un soutien financier grâce aux fonds de mobilité de l’Université de la Grande Région lors de sa mobilité pour assister à des cours à l’Université de Liège de septembre 2017 à décembre 2017.

  3. Gelungener Auftakt: Das 1. Forum Großregion des UniGR-Center for Border Studies!

    Am 7. Juni 2018 fand im Rahmen des Interreg VA GR-Projekts „UniGR-Center for Border Studies“ das erste „Forum Großregion“ zum Thema „Grenzüberschreitende Arbeitnehmermobilität als Ressource für die Großregion?“ unter Teilnahme des luxemburgischen Arbeitsministers Nicolas Schmit im Haus der Großregion (L-Esch-sur-Alzette) statt. Es handelte sich dabei um die Auftaktveranstaltung zu einer Reihe von insgesamt sechs öffentlichen Podiumsdiskussionen zu aktuellen Themen der Grenzraumforschung, die eine Plattform für den interregionalen Dialog zwischen Bürgern, Entscheidungsträgern und Fachexperten bieten soll.

  4. Die Universität der Großregion möchte einer der ersten europäischen Universitäten werden

    Mit dem Ziel, „bis 2024 rund 20 europäische Universitäten zu schaffen“ haben die Rede von Emmanuel Macron vom 26. September 2017 und die Erklärungen des Europäischen Rats vom 14. Dezember 2017 dem Europäischen Hochschulraum (European Higher Education Area – EHEA) eine neue Dynamik eingehaucht. Auf der Tagesordnung der Versammlung der Präsidenten und Rektoren am 29. und 30. Mai auf dem Campus Belval der Universität Luxemburg standen folglich die Initiative „Europäische Universität“ sowie die Vorbereitung der Kandidatur der UniGR für den Projektaufruf der Europäischen Kommission, der Ende des Jahres erfolgt. Die UniGR kann angesichts der Intensität ihrer Partnerschaft sowie ihrer Aktivitäten als Vorläufer und Modell einer solchen Verbindung betrachtet werden.

  5. Fifth edition of the inter-university sports and culture day

    On 29 May 2018, on the margins of the meeting of the UniGR Council of Presidents and Rectors, the partner universities in the University of the Greater Region (UniGR) took part in their annual sports and culture day.

    Some 120 participants from the University of Kaiserslautern, the University of Liège, the University of Lorraine, the University of Luxembourg, Saarland University and Trier University attended the event in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg.

  6. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS „UniGR-Chair in Border Studies 2019“

    The Interreg V A Greater Region Project UniGR-Center for Border Studies launches the call for the “UniGR-Chair in Border Studies” (action 4.2) 2019. This chair supports short-term mobility (2 months) of professors and / or post-doctoral researchers between the six UniGR universities (University of Kaiserslautern, University of Liège, University of Lorraine, University of Luxembourg, Saarland University or Trier University). Accommodation and travel costs are sponsored by the Interreg V A Greater Region EU programme (max. 4000 EUR).

    In 2019, each project partner will receive and send a researcher from / to another UniGR university. In 2020, a seminar gathering all the researchers who benefited from this mobility grant will be organized in Liège, in order to share their experience and their insights into recent developments in the Greater Region and/or the field of Border Studies.

  8. Die Universität der Großregion feiert Europa!

    Am 9. Mai hat die UniGR gemeinsam mit zahlreichen Akteuren der Schuman-Erklärung von 1950 gedacht, die als Geburtsakt der Europäischen Union gilt. Im zu diesem Anlass in Luxemburg-Stadt eingerichteten europäischen Dorf waren zahlreiche Vertreter der europäischen Länder, die europäischen Institutionen sowie Akteure der Region, die Europa im Alltag erlebbar machen, versammelt. Die UniGR konnte ein breites Publikum über ihre verschiedenen Fördermöglichkeiten für Studierende und Promovierende informieren, die Europa dank der geographischen Nähe der Länder der Großregion im Alltag erfahrbar machen.

  9. Le projet Interreg VA Grande Région « UniGR-Center for Border Studies (UniGR-CBS) » a démarré !

    Le projet prévoit la création d’un centre européen de compétences et de ressources spécialisé dans les Border Studies. En lien avec d’autres mesures telles que des séminaires scientifiques, une chaire UniGR-CBS en Border Studies et des tables-rondes publiques, le projet contribuera à développer et à profiler d’avantage le domaine-phare Border Studies de l’Université de la Grande Région (UniGR).

    The University of Luxembourg, in partnership with the universities of the Greater Region Liège, Lorraine and Kaiserslautern, as well as the consultancy company ICSEED, hosted the fourth TRNSYS EXPERIENCE Seminar on 19 and 20 April 2018 in Belval.
