The Young Mathematicians Symposium of the Greater Region (YMSGR) is a friendly and stimulating meeting of PhD students and young researchers in mathematics from all universities of the Greater Region. This year, it was held during September 23-24, 2019 at the University of Liège (Belgium).

This is the second edition after the one that took place in Nancy (France) last year. Due to its cross-border nature, this event is supported by the UniGR fund for scientific events. In 2020, the event will prospectively take place at the TU Kaiserslautern (Germany).

Approximately 25 Master students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers participated in the symposium. The PhD students coming from all mathematical horizons had the opportunity to expose their research. Following the presentations of the first day, the organizing committee offered a guided tour of the city of Liège, which was very well received.
