Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (htw saar)

As a UniGR student, you can enrol for courses free of charge (in addition to your regular studies at your home university), take examinations if necessary and have up to 10 ECTS per semester recognised.

Detailed descriptions of the content, language, teaching form and ECTS of the individual courses (modules) in the degree programmes can be found in the Module Database htw saar.

Please understand that you may not be able to take all courses (modules) due to capacity constraints. We therefore strongly advise you to contact the UniGR team at htw saar (e-mail unigr@htwsaar.de) BEFORE applying for enrolment as a visting student to find out whether the course you have chosen is open to UniGR students and, if necessary, to seek advice on alternatives. You should also clarify the possibility of ECTS recognition in advance, if desired.

After selecting your course(s), please complete the application for enrolment as a visiting student at htw saar as part of the UniGR student status and send it by email to the UniGR team at htw saar (unigr@htwsaar.de).

The UniGR team will forward the application and possible inquiries to htw saar's Student Services and inform you that the application has been accepted. To enrol as a UniGR student, you will now need:

• Certificate of enrolment or student ID from your home university, valid during the period of your UniGR studies at htw saar
• Copy of your identity card
• Proof of your health insurance
• Passport photo
• Application for exemption from payment of the administration fee - UniGR (if not already submitted)

IMPORTANT:

Please write ‘UniGR student status’ clearly on the outside of the envelope or in the subject line of the e-mail!

Student Services will register you as a visiting student with UniGR student status and send you the usual documents including your (free) htw saar student ID card. If you do not receive these within a reasonable period of time, please contact the UniGR team at htw saar.

What language skills do I need?

The htw saar requires UniGR students to have adequate knowledge (usually level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) of the working language of the selected course. When choosing your courses, please pay attention to the working language and any additional language requirements.

Enrolment deadlines for UniGR students:

• for the winter semester: mid-July - beginning of September
• for the summer semester: mid-January - early March

Please allow sufficient lead time for your course selection and for the UniGR team and htw saar Student Services to check availability and your data and documents.

Please contact the UniGR team at htw saar (unigr@htwsaar.de) to find out whether it is necessary to register for coursework and examinations and by whom and in what form certificates of achievement are issued. The examination office at htw saar will use the certificates of achievement to create a transcript of records, the overview of your UniGR degree programme at htw saar.

We strongly recommend that you conclude a Learning Agreement (2.06 MB-PDF-EN) for the recognition of your UniGR study achievements (up to 10 ECTS possible). It documents the approval of the responsible persons at your home university and at htw saar.

As a UniGR student at htw saar, you only pay for the compulsory accident, liability and theft insurance at htw saar (currently 1.30 euros). As a UniGR student, you are exempt from the administration fee upon application. Please submit the application for exemption from the administration fee for UniGR students at htw saar in good time.
