In Trier, the LATI project partners took part in a series of discussions dedicated to cross-border spatial development and university cooperation within the Greater Region.

A key moment of the event was the Interreg LATI expert session entitled “Innovative Approaches to Cooperative Spatial Development in European Border Regions: The Example of the Greater Region.” The session brought together different perspectives on territorial cooperation and highlighted practical ways to strengthen the connection between academic research and spatial planning practice.
In his opening remarks, Benjamin Weyers, Vice President of Trier University, emphasized the role of border regions as spaces for innovation and long-term cooperation. The subsequent panel discussion highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue between higher education institutions and political, administrative, and societal stakeholders across the Greater Region in addressing shared territorial challenges.

Throughout the event, the joint project stand also provided valuable opportunities for networking and exchange among representatives of the LATI, UniGR-CIRKLA, and DIALOG projects, fostering new synergies between research, education, and regional development initiatives.
