Julien Pieron from the University of Liège is starting his UniGR Fellowship at the Käte Hamburger Centre for Cultural Practices of Reparation (CURE) at Saarland University.
His research project, ‘La contre-cartographie comme pratique culturelle de réparation’, examines how alternative mapping can contribute to healing and repairing ecological, colonial and social wounds as a cultural practice.
A total of twelve fellows from around the world were selected, including an exclusive UniGR fellowship that specifically supports young researchers from UniGR partner universities.
On 15 October, this year's cohort of fellows will be welcomed with a festive reception at Saarland University. In addition to a renowned guest speaker, the event programme includes presentations of the research work of the twelve fellows from Argentina and Taiwan, Cameroon and Nigeria, Slovenia and Belgium, France and Germany.
More information about the reception is available on the Saarland University website.
The call for applications for the third year is currently open, with a deadline of 15 December. More information about the call for applications is available on our website.
