Workshop "Répresentations de genre dans les médias et dans les arts" on November 15, 2024, at Université de Lorraine, led by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Lena Wetenkamp
Jun.-Prof. Dr. Lena Wetenkamp from Trier University is currently conducting research as a UniGR-Guestprofessor at Université de Lorraine, collaborating with Dr. Cécile Chamayou-Kuhn. During her two-month stay, funded by the Marienburg Foundation, she is committed to making her research area accessible to students and colleagues from UniGR partner universities as part of a cross-border knowledge-sharing initiative.
On November 15, 2024, she will lead a practical workshop titled “Représentations de genre dans les médias et dans les arts,” offering valuable insights into the field of gender studies.
In the first part of the workshop, participants will learn through two keynote talks in French how certain media and artistic representations contribute to questioning gender norms and roles, as well as the practices that foster the emergence of critical discourse and promote the transformation of societal thinking and behavior.
The second part, aimed particularly at students, invites them to participate in an interactive group activity conducted in German, concentrating on gender representations in contemporary intercultural German-language literature.
