UniGR-CBS Anniversary: 10 years of UniGR's first Interdisciplinary Center of Expertise

The UniGR Centre for Border Studies (UniGR-CBS) celebrates its tenth anniversary this year and looks back on its achievements in cross-border research cooperation. Researchers, stakeholders and citizens of the Greater Region are invited to attend the anniversary events planned by the UniGR-CBS.

The UniGR-CBS has successfully developed from an Interreg project into a permanent interdisciplinary Centre of Expertise of the University of the Greater Region (UniGR) and brings together the expertise of border researchers from the six partner universities. The researchers involved analyse socio-economic and socio-cultural issues and provide practice-oriented solutions for challenges in border regions.

“The UniGR-Center for Border Studies is an important resource for the development of the region, providing support for stakeholders and encouraging discussion with citizens. It contributes to the development and visibility of the Greater Region as a region of diversity in the heart of Europe through events it provides for encounters”. – Hélène Boulanger, President of the UniGR and President of the Université de Lorraine.

The interuniversity working groups with researchers coming from the Humanities and Social Sciences are the scientific basis of the UniGR-CBS. Their research topics and findings will be presented in the new UniGR-CBS podcast series ‘ON AIR’ throughout the anniversary year.

Further information on the UniGR-CBS podcast series, milestones of the UniGR-CBS research cooperation and the anniversary programme are available on the UniGR-CBS anniversary website: http://tenyears.borderstudies.org.
