Interdisciplinary Centers of Expertise

Interdisciplinary Centers of Expertise, CBS, CIRKLA

UniGR is developing its international profile by focusing on areas targeted to address some of the Greater Region's territorial and societal challenges. This specialisation is characterised in the form of "Interdisciplinary Centers of Expertise" and enables UniGR to combine the skills of its partner institutions to offer a high-quality interdisciplinary training offer, based on joint research projects at the highest international level and evolving in the innovation ecosystem of the cross-border space. The first two Centers were developed in the field of border studies (UniGR-Center for Border Studies) and in the field of materials and metals in a circular economy (UniGR-CIRKLA).

Furthermore, the UniGR and its partner institutions are involved in many areas of research through various networks. For example, the field of biomedicine, in which UniGR's partner universities are very active, brings together researchers from various disciplines of life sciences and medicine, such as bioinformatics, systems biology, molecular and cell biology, psychology, pharmacy, epigenetics or materials science and rational use of resources.

This cooperation enables the creation of interdisciplinary research networks working together on diseases and their treatment in the framework of cross-border projects in the Greater Region.
