The conference will take place on 25th and 26th January 2019 in the “Centre national de la littérature” in Mersch, Luxembourg, and bring together scholars in comparative literature from Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Germany. The cross-border event receives the support of the UniGR through the UniGR fund for scientific events. Beyond creating a common European scientific meeting place, the conference mainly aims to question the particularism of each of these countries in their conception and practice of comparative literature. The main scientific aim is to reflect on the dynamic phenomena that constitute its disciplinary object, which reveals that the literary corpus of each language is a product of intercultural exchange. The translinguistic and cross-border perspectives thus ground the specific disciplinary field of comparative literature, giving comparative thought the vocation to decompartmentalize problems and to arouse reflexive and critical and awareness.
