Call for Volunteers: Interreg Volunteer Youth

The University of the Greater Region – UniGR a.s.b.l. is looking for an Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) starting in October 2026 to support the communication activities of the Interreg VI A project “UniGR-CIRKLA”.

The University of the Greater Region (UniGR) alliance is a cross-border network bringing together seven partner universities from the Greater Region. It includes the universities of Kaiserslautern-Landau, Liège, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Saarland, Trier, and htw saar. UniGR is a registered association that aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation in research and teaching, expand cross-border study opportunities, and enhance the mobility of students and teaching staff.

The European Interreg project UniGR-CIRKLA connects science, industry, and society to promote the transition to a circular economy for metals and materials in the Greater Region. The aim is to create cross-border expertise that enables sustainable and resource-efficient management of metals and materials across all sectors of the economy and daily life.
 

In this context, the Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) will support the UniGR Central Office from October 2026 in the areas of dissemination, project identity and public relations.

Your Tasks and Activities

As part of the IVY volunteering programme, the volunteer will gain insights into international project work, science communication and digital media.

The tasks include:

  • Developing a multimedia glossary format to make the project’s content and technical terminology accessible to a broad audience, including: definitions of key concepts and terms, creation of short explanatory videos and social media content, supporting the implementation of the glossary on the project website
  • Support the project's daily communication: writing short articles, press releases etc. on project events for the website; translation of texts, care for public relations / networking;
  • Gaining experience in the use of digital tools for content creation and communication (e.g. Adobe Express, Photoshop etc.);
  • Planning and publishing content on LinkedIn and Instagram;
  • Managing website content (news updates and articles using the Contao content management system)
