Expert Committee: First In-Person Meeting!

On May 19 in Metz, the expert committee met in person for the first time.

This event marks an important step toward what lies at the very heart of LATI: a genuine science-policy interface for the Greater Region.

The committee brought together representatives from academia, government agencies, and practitioners in the fields of politics and regional governance.

The goal is not limited to sharing information; it also involves discussing, contextualizing, and refining research findings while taking into account their practical application in land-use planning.

This format thus creates a space for direct dialogue between research and planning practices at the local, regional, and cross-border levels, while fostering the emergence of new networks among planning experts in the Greater Region.

The goal is clear: to build a strong network that endures beyond the project and contributes to more thoughtful and collectively implemented spatial planning.

The meeting concluded with a field trip organized by the Eurométropole de Metz, during which concrete examples of net zero land take (ZAN) were observed and discussed directly on-site.

A big thank you to all participants and organizers for this intensive, constructive, and promising launch of this new format.
