We are pleased to warmly invite you to the launch of the Interreg project LATI – Laboratory for Territorial Intelligence.
How can science, politics, and administration together explore new avenues of cooperation to actively shape spatial planning in the Greater Region? This is the central question addressed by the new Interreg project LATI – Laboratory for Territorial Intelligence. We are pleased to warmly invite you to the public launch event, which will mark the first steps of this collective reflection:
LATI Kick-Off
When: June 27 2025, from 10:00 am to 04:30 pm
Where: Hotel Am Triller, Trillerweg 57, 66117 Saarbrücken
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in French and German.
The Greater Region is a true melting pot, bringing together a rich diversity of spatial planning traditions, legal frameworks, and institutional cultures. LATI views this diversity as a valuable resource to be harnessed through joint strategies. Its objective is to design cross-border planning processes collaboratively, knowledge-based, and future-oriented. What does this ambition look like in practice? The launch event will provide answers through short presentations of the project’s various work modules. At the heart of the program will be a roundtable discussion offering an open and constructive dialogue space – laying the foundation for sustainable collaboration with key spatial planning stakeholders:
- CCDT – Representative of the Territorial Development Coordination Committee: A strategic vision for governance at the Greater Region level (tbc)
- Eurodistrict SaarMoselle: Synergies at the regional level
- MOT - Transfrontier Operational Mission: International perspectives beyond the Greater Region (tbc)
- UniGR-Center for Border Studies: Scientific contributions at the interface of research, policy, and practice
The project launch will focus particularly on questions of language(s) and multilingualism. A conscious and thoughtful approach to these dimensions is a key requirement for successful cross-border cooperation.
This launch will serve as a springboard to initiate the project’s work in close collaboration with regional, Greater Region, and international actors. Based on this foundation, a solid network will emerge, experiment with concrete approaches, and collectively commit to innovative pathways in cross-border spatial planning.
