This year, the UniGR congratulates the franco-bulgarian author Elitza Gueorguieva, winner of the "Frontières" borders literary prize. This distinction will be awarded to the laureate during the "Livre à Metz" Festival on Saturday, April 5, 2025 (2:00 PM) at the Hôtel de Ville de Metz (Salon de Guise).
Her novel Odyssée des filles de l’Est, which tells the tumultuous journey of two Bulgarian women in Lyon seeking freedom, impressed the jury with its blend of humor and emotion. The author skillfully crosses geographical, linguistic, and psychological borders, offering a profound reflection on immigration and identity.
This prize is a joint initiative of the University of Lorraine and the University of the Greater Region (UniGR), along with other partners, recognizing literary works that explore the concept of borders in all its forms.
