On Monday, 16/10/2023, the University of the Greater Region and the University of Luxembourg hosted the first conference of the Erasmus+ project "Leg-UniGR: Blueprint for a legal entity for cross-border university alliances".
With numerous contributions, keynote speeches and a panel discussion, the conference discussed the progress of the project so far and provided an outlook for the future.
The event provided a valuable platform to explore the development of UniGR as a cross-border and transnational alliance of universities. Participants gained a comprehensive overview of the new possible legal forms that may shape the future of European university alliances.
A special thanks to all of today’s speakers and their contributions:
- Prof. Jens Kreisel - UniGR Vice President & Rector, University of Luxembourg
- Prof. Eric Tschirhart - Leg-UniGR Project Coordinator, University of Luxembourg
- Janosch Nieden - Director of EUCOR – The European Campus EGTC
- Matteo Lorito - Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning, National EGTC Contact Point in Luxembourg
- Florence Jacquey - Director of the EGTC Summit Secretariat of the Greater Region
We'd like to express our gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and attendees who gathered both on-site at the Maison de la Grande Région and online and made this event a success.
We would like to thank our contributing UniGR partner universities.
For those who missed the event or wish to revisit the discussions, we encourage you to stay tuned for post-event materials and updates which will be published shortly on the project’s website. The dialogue on the legal status of cross-border and transnational alliances continues, and your input is highly valued.
