The University of the Greater Region organised the popular sports festival again this year.
At the same time as a strategic meeting of the UniGR Council was held at the University of Trier on 31 May 2022, the local university sports department organised a cross-border sports tournament in cooperation with UniGR. This year, the aim was to win the coveted challenge cup in a football competition. All students and staff of the seven partner universities were invited to participate.
A total of six teams competed and demonstrated their skills in teams of 7. More than 100 players and spectators gathered during the afternoon and cheered on the motivated players on the sports fields.
After dynamic duels between the universities, TU Kaiserslautern rose as the winner in the end. The University of Trier followed in second place.
At the following award ceremony, University President Michael Jäckel, as host, handed over the trophy to the winners and pointed out the importance of a sense of community that also transcends borders.
