Studying within a European network
5 regions, 4 countries, 3 languages - infinite possibilities: That's what students of the six partner universities within the network "University of the Greater Region" have to choose from. With their different specialisations, the participating universities provide a variety of faculties, institutes and laboratories in the key areas of teaching and research.
You can search for study programmes of the partner universities via the UniGR Search Engine in this section.
You are also provided with information on cross-border opportunities within the framework of studying in the Greater Region:
- UniGR Student status: Students who are enrolled at a partner university can attend courses and take exams at other universities. Mobility Funds have been set up at most universities in order to support this.
- Cross-border study programmes: There are about 20 cross-border programmes, which take place at two or even three partner universities. Graduates receive (partly joint) degrees from the participating universities. Some of the courses are supported by the Franco-German University by granting students mobility allowances.
- A semester abroad at a partner university: Between the partner universities, there are many exchange arrangements such as Erasmus and other collaborations that facilitate studies at a partner university.
- Language courses and certificates: All partner universities offer language courses, some of them leading to a recognised certificate.
- Even students who spend their entire studies at a single university within the Greater Region, can use the libraries and canteens of partner institutions and, for instance, participate in conferences. These students can also make use of the Mobility Fund.
For students who wish to carry out an entire course of study at one of the UniGR universities, the usual rules of application and enrolment apply. Sufficient linguistic proficiency is generally an entrance requirement.
Cooperating across borders in teaching
UniGR has created a "toolbox" aiming at facilitating cross-border cooperation in teaching by supplying sample documents and best practices.
