Finding accomodation in the university towns of the Greater Region

The ways of obtaining access to university accommodation differ depending on the country. The Greater Region is no exception to this. So to avoid having to run an obstacle course in your search for accommodation, you need a single objective: to identify the right person to talk to who will be able to give you advice and good ideas. For short-term stays there are several youth hostels in the regions of the universities.

Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland

In Germany it is traditionally the Studentenwerke which manage the stock of student residences: rooms, furnished apartments etc..  They also have good ideas on how to find a flat share, a room in someone’s house or an apartment with all comforts. The Studierendenwerk of the University of Kaiserslautern, the Studierendenwerk of Saarland University or the Studierendenwerk of the University of Trier are your sources of all the useful information you need to obtain accommodation in the town concerned.

Wallonia

In Liège, you should contact the accommodation service of the University of Liège : they guide students in their search. Furthermore, the service manages almost 7 000 lodgings (rooms, apartments, houses) in the city of Liège and the surroundings of the Campus Sart Tilman.

Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, it is the university itself which manages a certain number of student residences. The accommodation unit of the SEVE (Service des Études et de la Vie Étudiante) is your contact point here.

Lorraine

In France, it is the CNOUS (Centre National des Œuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) and its network of CROUS (Centre Régional des Œuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) which deal with all the public student residences. All the information you need to find accommodation in Nancy or Metz is available on the website of the CROUS of Nancy-Metz. It offers different forms of accommodation (rooms in flat-share communities, single apartments and furnished apartments) with excellent value for money.
