Methodology

Photo: Doctoriales® de Lorraine 2010

The European Doctoriales® is certified according to quality criterias defined by the initiators of the French Doctoriales®. The five-days-seminar takes place aside normal higher education environment.

The five-day seminar takes place far away of its own laboratories or desk. The students work in groups that are supervised by company representatives. In order to create uniform conditions and a methodological basis for group work, the program of the seminar week is based on a series of talks:

The three thematic pillars of the seminar are:

  • Discover economic and socio-economic worlds: conferences, panel discussions with leading business representatives, company in-sights
  • Project Management and Innovation: conferences, discussions with PhDs in positions for management and implementation of innovative projects, implementation of an innovative project in interdisciplinary teams
  • Career-market for PhDs: conference, discussions with representatives of human resource departments, PhD reports from their work lives
