Events

The "University of the Greater Region“ project aims to increase the mobility of students, scientists and lecturers, and to strengthen cooperation in education and research between the partner universities. Events are an important element to get all parties involved.

An idea workshop will take place from March 27 to 28 at the University of Kaiserslautern organised by the network “University of the Greater Region”.

The event is open to all students of the partner universities and includes different presentations given by experts, an idea contest as well as a sport event in the evening. The workshop is meant to convey practical know-how and to sensitize the participants for the topic "Business start-ups". Besides it wants to encourage creative processes which lead to business ideas as well as to improve the participant’s intercultural competences.

Around 70% of PhD graduates are employed outside Academia.

To help them start their career, especially in international institutions of any kind, the partner universities of the network "University of the Greater Region" in partnership with the Franco-German University, the ABG Intelli'Agence and the National Research Fund of Luxembourg have organised a cross border residential seminar from October 16th to 21st 2011 in Ventron (France). 64 PhD candidates have participated in this event.

The project "University of the Greater Region" has organised an Autumn School at the University Paul Verlaine Metz between November 2nd and 5th 2011. Almost 70 students and PhD candidates participated in this event which treated the subject of "mobility and european values" in an interdisciplinary and european perspective.
