The project “University of the Greater Region” is funded by the European Union as part of the Interreg IV A Greater Region programme. The project was approved in September 2008 and started on 15th October 2008. Duration is expected to be 3.5 years and a total amount of around €6 million.

In addition to the European Union, the seven partner universities and the federal states and regions of Saarland, Wallonia, Lorraine and Rhineland-Palatinate are also involved in the financing.
